Basic Driving Procedures

The first unit is comprised of simple tasks that form the foundation for the remaining units. Tasks 1 (Cabin drill and controls) and 2 (Starting up and shutting down the engine) can be practiced in a car without actually driving it and consequently may be self-taught, saving the learner time and money.

The assessment for each unit 1 task requires the learner to demonstrate the task correctly, without assistance, on two consecutive but separate occasions.
